Cheers: Context, Conflict, and Change for better stories

The simplicity of this storytelling framework is what makes it so easy to learn it and start using it right away this afternoon … or a little later at happy hour.

Context— introduce the situation and make it relatable — what was happening? who was it happening to? what were they looking to accomplish? importantly — why does it matter?

Conflict — create the tension! — what got in the way of accomplishing the goal?

Change — make the point! — what happened? how was it resolved successfully? or was it failure? share the lessons learned.

It’s the Master Storytelling framework, and it’s from the book of the same title by Mark Carpenter and Darrell Harmon.
